2011 / Takayama Express 3-Day Tour of World Heritage Shirakawa-go & Kanazawa

This three-day package tour departs from Tokyo and takes you to Takayama, World Heritage Site Shirakawa-go, and Kanazawa.
Don't restrict your historical experience to just the main sites everyone visits - see Takayama, known as Little Kyoto, and its preserved historical structures and environment. Mingle with the locals at the thatched roofed village of Shirakawa-go, a World Heritage Site. Visit Kanazawa, home of Kenrokuen Garden, one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan.

  • Adult: (12 years and older):  JPY 104,900
  • Child: ( 6 - 11 years old ):  JPY 94,900
  • Extra charge for single occupancy:  JPY 5,500

**Remarks: For some tours, other tour fare will apply according to different age group for child.

Guide English-speaking guide (except while on board the bullet train) on Day 1-4. English assistance at the point of transfer on Day 2-3 (and Day 5 for the round trip plan).
Baggage Your baggage will be transported by land from Tokyo to Kyoto.
Each person will be allowed one piece of baggage.
For overnight stays in Takayama and Kanazawa, we recommend that you carry a light overnight bag.
Additional baggage will require an extra fee of JPY 2,200 per item.

Day1 : Tokyo - Takayama

Day2 : Takayama - Shirakawago - Kanazawa

REMARKS

1. Please dress casually and wear shoes comfortable for walking and also bring a coat or warm clothes from the chilly month of October to the snowy month of February.
2. When the former Toyama family residence is closed, or during days of heavy snow in the winter, a visit will be made to the Gassho-zukuri Folklore Park, the Nagase residence, or Myozenji Temple.
3. Lake Miboro may be skipped if there is heavy snow.
4. Depending upon traffic, weather conditions, or other operational needs, a motorcoach may be used to transfer from Nagoya Station to Takayama Station
5. When booking three people in one room, Japanese-Western-style rooms will be arranged for Deluxe room in Hida Hotel Plaza. Enjoy sleeping in a futon on tatami mats.
6. Visits to Kusakabe Folk Museum and Kamisanno Town may be changed to the following day.
